缺点： The AVIS agent at the Auckland airport was not friendly. She had a very harsh tone, was annoyed to be communicating with a customer, and was very peeved that we did not arrive at the exact hour our reservation was set for (no matter that we were just arriving from an international flight). The car itself was great. The customer service, not so much.

Rent a car for vacation for sure!
优点： This was a great experience! Great, clean car with all the room and amenities (usb plug and more) we needed. We were comfortable. The car made our vacation go so much smoother.

5 day drive Auckland to Wellington Kia Sportage
优点： Check in was great and easy. Able to load car and wait at airport to meet friends without reparking. Lot is only 100 yards from international terminal in Auckland. Kia Sportage drove great, plenty of room for 3 people plus luggage. Car had 37000 km on it which is nice because it wasn't brand new so didn't need to worry about small scratches. Drop off in Wellington was easy and fast as well.

缺点： The price given to me online was not the price I was charged for and when I called the 800 number, the customer service office was closed. I feel I was charged more money because I was in a rush to catch my flight- Poor business practice by Budget. When I picked up the car, the service representatives had me sign that the car was not damaged before even receiving the keys. I asked if there was damage, could I come back and fill out the form to reflect that, and they said "yes"... but the second I received my keys they shut the gates and left for the day. I asked why the price on the document they gave me was different than what I received online and they told me I'd only be charged the additional amount if I returned the car with less than a full tank of gas. The car was returned full and I was still charged more money than quoted online.

Hidden costs

缺点： When other rental car companies quoted me it was an all inclusive cost, it wasn't clearly noted that the car was a manual and the price didn't include insurance. So when I actually picked up the car they gouged me on both of those and the quotes price was more than doubled. I had somewhere to be and didn't have much of a choice. Feel like they knew that and really took advantage with the price.

Budget have overcharged me by $300 and not even se
缺点： Budget NZ have overcharged my Credit Card by $300 and not even sent an invoice to justify their charges. What a joke - supposed to be a premium provider...they didnt give me the car paid for (it was a crappy hybrid) and the car stank like a previous renter had spilled Dum Sum in the boot! Dissapointing Budget total rip off and fraudulent charges without substantiation!

The reservation was booked from Aukland to Queens town and we did not learn about this stipulation until we went to pick the car up. Had to change our plans and spend much more money on new reservations.

缺点： Rental office was a bare industrial building. Shuttle service was on demand, not scheduled - not every arriving customer is prepared to make local phone calls. Car itself looked like it was purchased at auction. A $2000 (yes two thousand) deposit was taken for the rental (which was more than the car was worth from the looks of it) and I didn't notice until on the road that the fuel tank was empty. I was lucky to make it to city center. On returning the car, the office was empty. No agents. No driver (off airport location, so getting to the airport was an issue). I left the key on a desk (after taking photos and video of the vacation office). As I was calling an Uber, the lone employee pulled up in the shuttle with customers on board. He said he'd drive me to the airport immediately. He did so 30 minutes later. I travel for a living. In 35 years of travel, this is the second worst rental car experience. Scotties never again

Not worth the deal
优点： The customer service was great to work with
缺点： The first vehicle had 184,000 miles with broken parts and a shake in back end. Had to rerun and they gave us 195,000 miles on it with two cracks in windshield.

Old, torn seats
优点： If you want to save a little bit of money and don't mind an old car with torn seats and leather peeling off the steering wheel, then this is for you.
缺点： The car had about 100,000 miles on it. Car's nav system was in Chinese characters and not usable, seats were uncomfortable and worn.

优点： Called to say we were stuck in traffic as we were getting close to their closing time, they said not to worry as they were quite busy and would be there late. Not sure how a car rental at an international airport can close at 5pm.
缺点： Returning the car was interesting... the office had moved and in four phone calls to set up the return nobody mentioned that fact. We were lucky to see a SMALL note that had their new address. As we got close to the new return site a car pulled along side, asked whether we were returning a rental then said to bark in a certain lot at the airport and he would come find us... we parked and unloaded and he did come by but it was odd. Thankfully we were not pressed to catch our flight.

They said they were off site, but we assumed we would have a free airport pickup. They charged after the fact. Charged 3.5% for cc payment which wasn't stated up front. When we wanted to pay cash, they said they had no change, and no maps. Kind of fly by night. The car was old, radio didn't work, arm rest between seats was torn up, and car had over 100,000 km. They didn't seem very professional or servicible.

They suck!
优点： Absolutely nothing!
缺点： Let start with they had moved between the time I booked and the time I arrived and there was no communication stating that fact. Then we'll move to the vehicle, it was obviously bought at an auction of some kind, it was filthy, couldn't see through the wind screen, the windshield wipers barely worked. It smelled like there had been a toga party in it, upholstery was dusty and smelled like an ashtray. I wanted to say something but it was the single van in the fleet! After doing a bit of research, I found that this wasn't even that good of a deal. They should not be a Kayak vendor!

优点： Its the worst rental car service i have ever encountered. They didnt come to pick me at the airport. I have to book a taxi to the address written in my confirmation sheet but its just an empty factory. I had to book a shuttle to and fro my hotel and cost me double. Worst is the telephone i called them more than 20 times its just go to the machine what a waste of money. I will definitely make complain to the NZ authorities when i reach home. I really hope u can refund back my deposit and booking fee thank you

优点： Prompt Airport pickup. Friendly , courteous staff. GPS supplied was a nice touch. Was able to leave car at my last night motel which was very convenient. Car was small so comfort was only marked as good, not a company fault

I'll not use Scottie again
优点： Nothing
缺点： Rental office was a bare industrial building. Shuttle service was on demand, not scheduled - not every arriving customer is prepared to make local phone calls. Car itself looked like it was purchased at auction. A $2000 (yes two thousand) deposit was taken for the rental (which was more than the car was worth from the looks of it) and I didn't notice until on the road that the fuel tank was empty. I was lucky to make it to city center. On returning the car, the office was empty. No agents. No driver (off airport location, so getting to the airport was an issue). I left the key on a desk (after taking photos and video of the vacation office). As I was calling an Uber, the lone employee pulled up in the shuttle with customers on board. He said he'd drive me to the airport immediately. He did so 30 minutes later. I travel for a living. In 35 years of travel, this is the second worst rental car experience. Scotties never again

Not worth the deal
优点： The customer service was great to work with
缺点： The first vehicle had 184,000 miles with broken parts and a shake in back end. Had to rerun and they gave us 195,000 miles on it with two cracks in windshield.

优点： Very friendly and helpful staff at Scotties.
缺点： Gave wrong address and phon÷ no. Took two hours and several phone calls to for right address. Did not tell rental was for older car and Scotties was rental place Economy was only the agent. Poor communication all the way.

Old, torn seats
优点： If you want to save a little bit of money and don't mind an old car with torn seats and leather peeling off the steering wheel, then this is for you.
缺点： The car had about 100,000 miles on it. Car's nav system was in Chinese characters and not usable, seats were uncomfortable and worn.

缺点： We feel that we were falsely led by their ads. We thought Economy was the same as the US Economy car rental we are familiar with. They said they were off site, but we assumed we would have a free airport pickup. They charged after the fact. Charged 3.5% for cc payment which wasn't stated up front. Terrible Company - Hidden Fees
缺点： The company told us our total would be 148 and then threw in an extra 150 fee that was not included originally so it ended up being more than other companies had quoted. Even worse, they operate in New Zealand through a different company, and they gave us the wrong drop off address for that company, which had us frantically driving around before we had to be at the airport. Buyer beware. Go with the more reputable company.
