With a stay at Newton House in Ashbourne, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Dovedale National Nature Reserve and Tissington Hall. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Situated in South East Devon. Set in a Victorian Court Yard The Wheel House has stunning, tranquil, rural views over the Coly Valley, Farwood Barton lies amid high hills in the heart of the East Devon countryside yet near the Jurassic coast and dates back from Saxon times. Just a short distance from the A30/A303 and A35, perfect for exploring East Devon. The Wheel House has a large garden, tennis court and games barn. Free wi-fi included. There are lots of animals to see being on a working dairy farm. Accommodation This thoughtfully converted, spacious one level cottage has a vista of open farm land from every room. Sleeping up to 8 people plus a cot, the cottage has three bedrooms. One is a King Size bedroom with a luxurious pocket sprung bed and a sofa. It has a shower en-suite. The second bedroom has a pocket-sprung double bed and a shower en-suite. The third bedroom is a twin and there is a family bathroom off the hallway. Two more can snuggle on a sofa bed in a curtained-off area of the spacious lounge. The Wheel House has a spacious, open-plan, well-equipped Kitchen/Dining/Lounge area, including a range electric oven. The cottage has Geothermal underfloor heating. There is a log burner in the lounge. There are original beams and vaulted ceilings throughout the cottage. This cottage is all on one level and there are just a few steps into the garden area, where The Wheel House has its own patio and garden furniture. The Cottage has ample parking. The dining table sits up to 8 people, but, when the Leat and Apple Loft are rented together with family or friends we will change the table for the banqueting table which will sit up to 14 people easily. Amenities Games barn with a full size snooker table, table tennis, table football and a skittles alley, there are a selection of small ride on toys, indoor sandpit, outside is a full size tennis court and in the evening you can relax with an on farm fishing lake (full of Carp) with ample parking. The Jurassic coast is approx. 5 miles away, the nearest beach is Seaton/Beer 4 miles away, Lyme Regis/Sidmouth 9 miles away, the nearest town is Colyton/Honiton 3 miles away. Will accept 2 well behaved dogs at a charge of £20 per stay, contact the owner. Stay in the Countryside yet only half an hour drive to Sandy Park, Exeter, The Rugby World Cup!!
